WHAT WE DO.

OVERVIEW

McBraida specialises in manufacturing parts for industries where tolerances are small and quality is everything. For more than 60 years we have used our collective machining, assembly and inspection capabilities to do something that most other companies struggle with. We ensure that our customers get exactly what they need: parts that are on-time, 100% right, and cost-effective.

Across our two facilities we have a total of 70 CNC machines. The majority of these are milling and turning centres, but we also have excellent grinding and electrical discharge machining (EDM) capabilities to manufacture the more difficult and intricate features. We only purchase the market-leading CNC machines, meaning we can machine an entire spectrum of materials, from aluminium to heat-resistant super alloys. See here for more information on our machining fleet.

PHILOSOPHY

We believe that engineering is the juncture between creativity and science. We also believe that manufacturing solutions should be simple and easy to use, without compromising on cost or quality. This is why the up-front creativity of our experienced Engineers is rigorously captured as documented processes before being launched onto the factory floor and onto the machines.

DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURE

We love it when our customers work with us to design their parts. There are often ways to simplify the design and alter it to be more conducive to conventional manufacturing techniques; sometimes it's as simple as suggesting an alternative material. What this means for our customers is that we can offer significantly lower prices for parts which carry out the same function, as well as shorter lead times. Win-win.

FIRST-BATCH MANUFACTURE

This is where we develop the part-specific manufacturing process. Our Engineering teams use various tools and data to create a method which delivers on both cost and quality, meaning confidence is high from the beginning. Part-specific manufacturing data is collected during the manufacture of the first batch so that further optimisation can be carried out before machining any subsequent batches.

PRODUCTION MANUFACTURE

For those parts where there is an on-going production schedule, we continue to refine the manufacturing process so that we're confident that we can deliver your parts on-time and 100% conforming to the part specification at the the required production rate. We follow a mantra of Zero Defects, which means our customers don't need to worry about part conformance.
